Will Tax Incentive Money Go To Ex-husband That Owes Back Child Support And His Tax Return Is Flagged?
Posted on January 12th, 2010 4 commentsMy ex husband owes back child support and if/when he files his taxes and gets a refund the money comes to me and my girls…will they get his incentive money since he is thousands behind in child support? Is there a way to check on this and make sure my girls get his money? Thank ya’ll so much!

If he still owes back support, the rebate will be captured for that as well. If you are getting his tax refunds, you’ll get the rebate as well. You can check it through the Child Support Enforcement Agency but there’s really no need to do so if you’re already getting the tax refund money.

Absolutely. If he still owes money, any refund will automatically go to any debts he owes the government, or in your case, back child support. So, just check your mail for the next few weeks, because you’re going to be getting some extra cash.

has he re-married? if he did and he has no income but his wife does and they claim a joint return,then she can file for {injured spouse} and you won’t receive it,but if he has income and filed,then you will get it all or his share..good luck:)
