Many of your respondents are correct: you need a KVM switch. I use one that allows me to work on 8 different computers with one keyboard, one mouse and one monitor. I use it to load software on multiple machines, etc. On purchasing such a device make sure you get compatible ports and cables. ie if you want to use VGA to your monitor get VGA and not DVI and vice versa. Some support USB mice and not PS2. And some of the cheaper KVM’s don’t support high monitor resolutions like 1600×1200 so check that out too. And make sure either cables are included or you buy the correct cables.I even have one that I use two computers on that use dual monitors. Very cool! I got mine at http://www.newegg.com. Good luck.

For the input stuff, there is a program called synergy(I think…) That will help you out with sharing one mouse.
Another thing you might want to try out is getting a switcher box. They probably don’t cost that much, and should be easy to set up. -

You can get a device called a KVM switch. KVM stands for “Keyboard-Video-Mouse”. It allows you to either switch one K/V/M setup between two computers and alternate using them, or in reverse it can hook up two K/V/M setups on one computer and alternate their use.
There are also 4-way KVM switches, which would be used in small data centres to switch between different computers on a rack. -

You can get a box that also switches the keyboard and mouse. I have a 19″ monitor that has two inputs, but only used one.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HIGH-TECH-NEW-2-PO…
