Exabytes Hosting Server Sucks?!!!
Ok now what? I just finished talking with One Exabytes malaysia support staff named Yeoh, I emailed Andy the technical manager previously because of my web gallery problem (Can’t view my photos) then emailed support again yesterday evening, and today My emailed answered again with their support staff named Hp Beng.
What is the problem with Exabytes Hosting server? I’ved been using Exabytes.com.my Hosting service since last year. Now already more than one year. Was with their basic hosting package RM299.00 , however this year (february) there is a slightly increase on my blog and site visitors for limadang.com and bennyliew.com which exceeded my monthly bandwidth limitation = 100GB. For sure this is good for me…and my blog….BUT….
Then, Exabytes came out with a new great offer where with RM399.00 you can get 300GB Bandwidth, 300GB harddisk space, yup this is sound good! and i don’t have to worry about my site or blog suspended with the bandwidth limit issues. Well yes, migrated my hosting server to a better one, and at first all things went fine and smooth. However last month, Exabytes Bramble server experienced DDOS attack. and all my site was down for 24 hours , and intermittent for 1 week and until now.
But as of yersterday, Things getting bad bad bad and worst i can super worst. Issues?

Site inaccesible for 4-6 hours since yesterday
Site content gone (restored back, but three of my latest post GONE)
my gallery installed in my bennyliew.com currently in ERROR mode totally ERROR can’t even view any photos nor to see the gallery main page.

The support staff said to me?
Based on my checking as this issue was due to we have perform account termination on your old account in Korbu(210.48.145.9) server which redirecting the DNS to current Bramble(210.48.157.107) Server.
I am refer to ticket STR-508588 and found that actually our support do remind to change your DNS of your domain and addon domain to DNS detail as below for Bramble server on Wed, 27 Feb 2008 01:24:01 +0800.
Please perform ping at your end as referred to David step if you still found that your IP is resolve to 210.48.145.9 then your side still cache to the older page and if your IP is resolve to 210.48.157.107 then your side is using the latest information.
My answer:
All site pointed to the latest IP not the old one.
My Question:
If i still didn’t point my domain name to the new DNS, the only problem i should face was, not being able to view my site at all or some good and friendly error message (not the standard Cpanel error)
Why all data and all content all site in ERROR if they migrated all my site to the new Bramble server? Aren’t all the files and data should be saved to the new Bramble Server? and not the old Korbu server?
From what i understand, they only redirect my old Korbu account ip to the new Bramble Ip in order for me to access my site with the old DNS address. BUT WHY, all of the sudden, my files and data gone? if they really migrated my site to the new hosting server?
So now what is the real problem? Is Exabytes.com Hosting Server sucks? Really really SUCKS? or SUCKS? or Simply SUCKS? or the people behind it SUCKS? I don’t KNOW i am still waiting for answer. I can’t say they are TOTALLY Sucks, because i at least SPEAK With the real Human being just NOW, replied my email Though there is NO GOOD and acceptable Explanation to what happened to my hosting account.
But at least the company not totally RUN BY MONKEYS !! thats the fact! but if my problem still persist what should i say? Sometimes i think.. the money you willing to spend doesn’t really give you the best quality or expectation!
Once i got the updates i will let you guys know about this! but if i am in the wrong side, i will bring this Post DOWN. beside now limadang.com are now with Exabytes.com.my Hosting !!!

At the moment, I don’t recommend you guys to take any of Exabytes hosting server package. This is because of their service performance and uptime problem. Just go for some others provider at the moment, beside i can say that Exabytes.com package is not that cheap.

The issue number 2 3 and 4, its PHP specific errors and you can restore missing files by uploading them again from joomla distribution.

Sunsuron: Ya the file missing, but my doubt how come the file missing if they didn’t do anything with the server. Because since yesterday afternoon site down and can be accessed there must be something wrong with their server. So it is their task to rectify the problem and fix the error. arghhhhhhhhhh 10 sen aku silaka tul

Wow, I’d be damn pissed if the same thing happened to my site too. But thank goodness these never happened to my site yet, since I moved to a new host.

I know you come from IT background so it should be our responsibility to backup everything in the first place. Also, it took up to 72 hours for the new DNS to propagate throughout WWW and I think it is understandable that the website is inaccessible. The server has it’s own daily backup but not in ‘real-time’. That is why you are missing the latest posts. It’s up to you now whether to demand an apology from exabytes (w/out compensations) or take over the situation and fix it yourself. As far as I know, anger will never solve anything.

Sunsuron: ya no problem with that, i called their Technical manager and the support staff and they say sorry about it. But at first say there is on problem with the site now said have to revert back the site.. so they don’t tell me the right thing for me i have the rights to ask what is the happening kan beside different people come up with different answer ahaha
well anger doesn’t solve anything memang butul sunsuron, cuma sa rasa biarla durang yang bertanggungjawab tu kasi fix the site yang problem. at least durang kena responsible dengan apa yang sudah durang buat.
kalau nda sia sia la sa bayar untuk itu service kan. for sure if tia bising, they won’t do or fix the problem. 2 weeks selalu email durang well..selalu bagi alasan ini dan itu so…sa rasa sampai tahap sa nda bleh sabar bila 10 website sa effected. dan cuma tinggal limadang.com ja yang sihat. yang lain semua kong.
So now they are doing their work. once everything fixed i post another update about this Hosting issues problem.
but to date, tiada explanation yang logic kenapa my site all in error satu kali. for sure ada problem with Server. kalau tidak mana bleh tiba tiba kan.

you should get compensations from them, but you are advise not prefer any hosting company to provide ‘real time’ backup as all the business should have ‘over-sales’ concept.

Mana ada cpu dengan file corrupt kena mengena celeron.
Ini macam overselling hard disk sudah penuh, dia tak boleh tulis lagi terus file dia corrupt.

I always get pissed off with exabytes servers. I’m using ebiz linux hosting for a few of my sites, and i have all these sites monitored by InternetSeer. InternetSeer will send me notifications everytime the sites are down and inaccessible. I can say that the sites are down A LOT. It’s not worth my money.
Even my personal uncommercial blog (bittersweet7.com) which i host on random FREE HOST has MORE UPTIME than the exabytes servers! This really pisses me off. And i don’t plan to continue hosting with exabytes. They suck like damn hell.
